Celebrating life!

Edited: Warning ahead!!! Long post, ppl! Just to let you know. =)

Hello, you!
*big grin*

So sorry for not updating.. Alot of things had happened throughout my M.I.A. moments. Mid-term exams, hanging out time with friends, responsibilities to carry out and daily activities to be done every single day. I'm up to alot of things this year but it's all for good coz God has His purpose for them. But the truth is... I truly am enjoying my life, and in everything I'm doing, every moment of it! I'm LOVIN' IT!

Serving God is my life. Without Him, Melissa Ong is nothing. Truly nothing. I must share, I am so thankful to my mum for one thing. Not for bringing me to this world ( though it is also something I should be thankful for), but for bringing me to know Jesus. This is utmost important. I am super proud to say I am a child of God and will not be ashamed of Him. =)

I thank God for many things in my life.
I think it would be blessings I never thank Him often enough or have taken it for granted.

  • Firstly, my family (parents and bros) who have seen me grown pysically (though still skinny.. =( ), mentally and spiritually. These ppl I have taken them for granted at times coz they are the very ones whom I see every day but one of the bunch of ppl I treasure the most! Ahh.. Thanks Lord!

  • My friends- kindergarden, primary and secondary school friends, classmates, church friends, NS and etc. Friends who have been with me, encouraged me, played with me ;) and influenced me to who I am this very day. Thank YOU so much, you all for just simply being, you! And that's what made me, ME! ;D
  • I thank God for teachers. Yes, you've heard that right. Haha. Especially those who have impacted me. Honestly, I enjoy seeing teachers who teach with all their heart (you know how few these teachers are, right?) and take care of their students needs as if they are their own children. Ms Menon, Cik ZAS, Mrs Rose.. I can name them coz there aren't many teachers who has those qualities as I 've mentioned above. And yes, I must thank God for Sunday school teachers and those teachers who have broought me up spiritually. There are so many in my life. Right from when I was around 7 years old till right now in church! Well, there's too many to name, but all I can say is thanks for being God's hands in teaching me, encouraging me in the knowledge of who our great God is. Truly your reward is unseen now, but great in heaven. =)

  • Last but not least, thank You, God for Your Spirit that's living in me. Thank You for Your covering, protection and Your unfailing and everlasting love for me! Thank You for holding my hands ever so dearly that whenever I fall, You are always there to pick me up. Thank You for allowing me to go through trying times, so that I would learn from my mistakes and able to encourage others who encounter the same thing and of course, to grow in my faith. To learn to trust in You and not just You giving in to me. I love You for that though it has never been pure easy to go through trials and testings in life. But truly I can testify that You have been with me when my pocket has a big hole (pok kai. haha), times when my studies take a rollercoaster ride- both good and bad results time, personal problems and worries and hurts. You, Lord meant the world to me. * And I'm sorry when I hold back my world from you at times without realizing*
  • Taking a step back.. Last word: Enjoy LIFE! Know Life itself. That's the best thing that can ever happen to you coz when you know Life (Jesus), it is indeed better than life. =)

Oh and I have this song in my mind. Just to share the verse:

Better than the riches of this world,

Better than the sound of my friends voices,

Better than the greatest dreams of my heart,

And that's just the start.

Better than getting what I say I need,

Better than living the life that I want to,

Better than the love anyone could give,

Your love is.

Better Than Life by Hillsong

And yeah, some of you may have thoughts running in ur head that my posts can be very 'ho-lee'; you know what I mean. But to me, God plays a major part of my life. Putting Him out is like not having life and having a meaningless life. So, I hope you can understand. I don't wanna have a separate blog just to share my life with Christ in the picture coz firstly, I don't think I have the time. One blog is already enough. Time time! See how often I update here. Haha. Secondly, two blogs on my life? No need lah! hehehe

WANNA SEE SOMETHING?!?

I hope you don't go... "What are those???" lol. These lil creatures as you can see are puppies yeah? Just so to mention in case you really don't know. And it is my joy to see them grow bigger and bigger each day! ;)

Missing you like crazy!!! =(

I miss you very much, Hannah! You're one of the bestest girlfriend I ever had. Thanks for being a great blessing and encouragement to me! You've impacted my life to who I am today. And yes, you've added colours to my old school days! XD

It's crazy having to let you go... Just now, jc asked me. "How come I looked like I don't feel anything that my friend is going?" I answered, "You expect me to cry now?"
Okay.. Truth been spoken. Although I don't LOOKED like I've lost a friend, I totally FELT like I've lost one of the people who meant the world to me. I've cried several times. I've sobbed several times. Well, mum was right when she said I should feel happy for you that you are pursuing your studies at a higher level. At first, it didn't make sense that I should feel happy when my friend is leaving.. But now, I agree with her on this. Though I still don't feel totally happy inside yet honestly.

Anyway, I know that God will always be watching over you there in Australia. He is the One who will take good care of you and protect you while you are far far away from home. He has great plans for your life. And I pray that you will shine for Him wherever you are. Stay HOT in Him, hottie!

I'll miss you very very much! Sigh.. I already am!

sugar lollipops!

I'm soo EXCITED!!! lol..

I'll be going for LYPG; Local Youth Prayer Gathering tomorrow at People's Park Baptist Church from 11am to 1pm. It's an event where youths from KL and PJ gather to seek God's face and pray for our nation. Here's the link if you wanna check it out or curious what it's all about. Click on HERE! *on the word 'here' if u dont get it =)*
Hehe.. Anyway, God never fails to amaze me... He literally made streams of water in a desert; opening shut doors for me. I asked God if going for this prayer event is where He wants me to be as I want to be where He wants me in... And He confirmed it through Isaiah 38:4; where because Hezekiah prayed, God had mercy on Him and extended his life for another 15 years. This has taught me the power of prayer. You never know the real power of it till you experienced it yourself. :)

Second one from Isaiah 42:6-8. The main points:

  • God has chosen me (and He has chosen you too!); God is with me

  • To bring light and God's promise of hope to the nations

  • Most importantly, God will not let humans or idols share His glory and praise ( a BIG reminder to me)

And also Isaiah 43:8- To bring God's ppl together. Tell everyone of every nation to gather around. Which I believe means tell the ppl around you about this and together let's gather to pray.

Because I'm convinced God wants me to be there and to start going this month, not other months, I know I will be just there though I dont know how to get there yet. But I trust God that He'll settle it for me. =) The shut doors I meant above was my transportation problem. My mum allows me to go but she asked me to find my own way there. Not because she's mean or anything, but coz she's really tired of being the driver fetching me and my bro to and fro whether for practice or tuitions after her work and it takes alot of her time, and sometimes she even has to give up her own plans to compromise with our plans; which I totally understand. But I really need her to bring me there... And when I asked her nicely and tried to convince her many days ago, her reply was no. It's like she has to put a stop to this once and for all; stopping me from getting more involved in Christian activities. After that conversation, it's like there was almost no hope and you-can-just-forget-about-asking-her that kind of feeling. Was figuring out of taking a bus, lrt and all with my friend. And then another friend popped in my mind. He planned to go too! I believe God has placed us there; it wasnt by accident. =)

Anyway, to cut it short... Yesterday night, I asked my mum again. *It was my third attempt this week* And I asked her if she is going to the market on sat morn.. And she asked me... Why?? I told her I'm gonna go to the prayer event there by bus then gonna walk. And I told her just wondering if she could fetch us there. Somehow, honestly I felt God had soften her heart that day( Thursday) coz of another incident where I needed her to take me for music practice. Not too long, but not too short story but I'm not gonna put it here. Ask me and I'll share with you the magic words I've said that she's willing to fetch me. The MAGIC WORDS! haha *though in the end she asked my dad to fetch me there and she fetched me back* And I know God was there guiding my words as I've prayed asking God for favor with my mum actually most of the time when I know asking her to fetch is not something she favors. And God surely answers prayers. :) My mum agreed and not only that, she tells me its important to pray for the nation as what the speakers in her Tenthmakers (CF liked based in her office) shared. *And thanks mum! I realized though you complain, its only 30% percent of the time you complain. 70% you just did not, coz you did what you knew was best for us. And if you didnt complain about fetching us so often, I would think you're not a human. hahah*

Well well... Tmr is also another day where my youth is aiming to target 50 youths to come. Well, I know for some of you 50 for your youth church is sap sap sui. But mine is not. But as we believe of not just taking up a challenge made by my pastor, we want to see ppl saved, knowing *& embracing the loving grace of God. May God move mightily in that place, uniting all of us as ONE, glorifying Him in the things we do and speak.. And of course, may the ppl who come have fun in the presence of God and in playing the games specially prepared by one the youth. May my youth group capture the heart of God and do the things He has called us individually to do; fulfilling the plans He has for us in our very own lives.

my youth that I'm proud of deep inside. :)) however, this is not our actual regular size though I wish it was or even bigger according to God's will. =(

I have so many things to share.... Of what God has put in my heart. Of the simple yet suprising thoughts He placed in my mind. How He answers my prayers... I used to keep it to myself and only share when it's needed or when I feel I needed or wanted to. =.= But this year, I had a good kick start of the year with a bang with God. Lol.. This year is soo different from other years. In fact, it is the best of the 19 years I've lived. I dont know why.. But God is doing so much in my life this year and.... It's only the very beginning of February! I dont know what the whole of this 2009 will be like, but one thing for sure God is doing something great not only in my life, but in your life. You need to hear that. And He wants to do more, only if you would come and draw yourself to Him. I'm so excited for what God has in store for me and you! XD

Ending with a high note:

I can't wait for tmr!!! hahah. And I don't know what and how much to expect! But oh well as Siemens said in an sms yesterday, God is in the house! Which means GREAT things happen! :DD

Till then!

TGIF. =)

13.01.09 =)

It's 4 days after getting my last semester's results. And I am still so grateful every day to God for my Business Law results. The gratefulness and the feeling of unbelievable is still pretty much on me.. Even more when I found out I'm one of the 2 students who got a B for Business Law. And that's the best result, as no one got an A. I know it wasn't my own strength, but by God's grace. He deserves the honor, glory and praise!

As I glanced back and recalled those moments of studying, I can just cry... ='(

It was really so pressuring, the intense atmosphere of my own world of not sure what grade I would get. The thing about Business Law is not just about understanding it, but also being able to write it out. At one point, I felt like I couldn't express what I've understood in writing. Freaky, I tell you! hahaha..

During the intense Business Law revision I had one week before exam, God has been my source of strength. I felt like giving up so many times. But God encouraged me through His Word- Nothing is impossible with God and also whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men. Colossians 3:23

It was during those moments when I really needed encouragement and have to be optimistic even when I feel my world is literally so dark, God has been the light shining, guiding me and walking with me throughout the so called 'dark' or tough moments to me! Moments when I did not utter it out, but it was in my heart of giving up, God was telling me to hang on. Again and again... From that onwards, I've decided to study everything I can and just do my best and trust God for whatever results I will get. =)

One thing I've learnt is there is NO shortcut in life. And that goes the same for studies. There's no shortcut in studies. One must work & study hard. I used to think of the study smart concept and how it comforts us that we don't need to work so hard, just work smart; but now studying HARD is equally important! :))

It's really true... Trust God with all your <3

Well, truly God has shown me His power, His promise, His love & faithfulness in another semester again.

*Thank You, God!* <3<3<3

Praise God!

PRAISE GOD!
  1. Last semester's results are out. I obtained 2As for College Algebra with Application & Management Principles & 2Bs for Introduction to Computer Application & Business Law. I told God it would really be a miracle to get this CGPA result due to the Business Law subject which was a 3rd year subject plus the high standard set by the really good lecturer. But, I got a 'B' for Business Law! So unbelievable... Was expecting a C honestly coz lecturer's standard is really, really very high. But praise God! Nothing is impossible for Him. =)
  2. All in all, I also reached my target by the grace of my loving God; which is to achieve a CGPA of 3.5 or above at least once in one of the 3 semesters per year. And I did it for my first year! Truly without God, I am nothing.
Truly an amazing God! <3
Inspired by 1 Corinthians 9:24- Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize....
I will study aiming for an A, so even if I dont get an A, I'll get a B. I prefer aiming high. My church pastor once said, "If you're an A student, be the best A student. If you're a B student, be the best B student. That goes the same for C, D and other grades. The main thing is simply to be the best YOU can be!" But hope will not be on the results. Hope is on God. So whether what I achieved is good or not so good results, the joy of the Lord is my strength. He gives and takes away. And I'm not gonna regret any decisions made in the past. There's only one way to move that is MOVING FORWARD.
To those who didn't do so well or didn't get what they expected, don't ever dare to give up. Don't let this semester results bring you down alright? =) This is not the end. It's only the beginning of better results ahead. Nothing is impossible! This is what I believe and hold on to.
Chiaoz... Tc GBU =)

Watching the Nite 2008 Pass Me By...

YO-U!

Whassup? Was at church on New Year's Eve for Watchnite Service to celebrate & praise God for His goodness and faithfulness throughout the year 2008. Pastor Alvin mentioned something like this: "Some people attend watchnite service to welcome the new year 2009; whereas some people attend watchnite service to chase away the old year 2008." Very interesting! It all boils down whether one is an optimist or pessimist. And always, the optimists are the very ones who would most likely to succeed because they are the ones who are able to look even at the worst things at another perspective and take it as a lesson to learn and to see if they can make something good out of something not so good. This is my point of view. Anyway, I like optimism. Not sure if there's such a word... but I really like optimism. haha. But surely hope I can remember to be one at ALL times. =)

Glancing 2008 back, God was indeed gracious to me and my family. He provided every of our single need. We weren't lacked of anything good! He provided financially too though there were tough times. He used many people who came across our path, and even our very own near relatives to bless us. And we too, choose to bless others knowing when we bless others, we are being God's extended hands and feets. =)

2008 embarked the many first beginnings in my life; being away home for a duration of 2 months +, bathing using sarong, meeting all sorts of ppl with different personalities and characters, college life and the list goes on...

2009 will be a great year for me albeit there would not be short of trials and testings. How do I know it would be great?? Optimism. haha =) Pastor mentioned during service about the ONE THING. There are many things, many purposes and visions one can ever have. But what is the one thing that God wants you to do this coming 2009? The one thing...? I am encouraged by a guy named Caleb found in the Bible. An ordinary guy but so purposed-driven.

God told the Israelites that God is going to bless them by giving them a land that will be filled with milk and honey; and the Israelites were very pleased to hear that. But when they discovered the land was being conquered by a huge and strong tribe of other nation, they started to doubt God, disobeyed Him as they felt inferior as well as impossible to do it. But what caught my attention when I read the verse again. It says, "But because my servant Caleb has a different spirit and follows me wholeheartedly....." the word that caught my attention was wholeheartedly. Well, even the Israelites followed God but only Caleb followed God wholeheartedly, all the way, without reproach and turning back. Caleb was not distracted by others or other works. He knew his vision and he seized it.

This coming 2009, God has placed the ONE THING in my heart. I want to have a different spirit and follow God wholeheartedly in the one thing He wants me to do just like Caleb. I want to achieve the promise that He has for me. But I need His strength, His encouragement, His grace and His Spirit every day, every moment. The fear is always there. But when there's fear, I certainly cannot achieve the things of God because I'm relying on my own strength. But His perfect love casts away all my fears. Today, I am encouraged. WITH GOD, NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE. =)

Anyway, posting some COOL pictures taken with my COOL youth friends after the service. =)

Fee Vien.. My twin sis! jk. lol.. my chilli HOT AND SPICY sis in Christ. Or strawberry sweet? HAHA

3 MACHO GUYS who want to block the girls from stealing the limelight. XD Sharing is caring you know... lalala ;)

Anyway, 2008 has come to an end. It either has been a great or not-so-great year for some of us...

Well, as for 2009...

No one knows what will happen...

Though things may not be PERFECT

Or turn up the way we expected them to be...

And maybe even some unwanted things, circumstances or situations popped by in 2009...

BUT...

We will still (and never stop!) keep rocking on for Jesus Christ, the author and finisher of our faith! :)

BLESSED HAPPY NEW YEAR! =)

*A lil late... sorry... =(*

sheer cheers for '09!

COOL Summer Vacation!

Youth camp was AWE to the SOME! It was fun, amazing, simply enjoyable. We had a very entertaining yet anointed servant of God, Pastor Nicholas Choo. The theme for this COOL Youth Camp was ID-ME; which means Identify Me. This camp certainly has reached its goal as it helped me to discover myself better and to know that I am God's masterpiece. Ephesians 2:10 says it all- For we are God's masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so that we can do the good things He planned for us long ago. For those who do not know, COOL stands for Christ Our Only Lord.

For now, let the pictures do the talking. Sit back, buckle up your seat belts as the pictures takes you on a journey of the 4 days 3 nights camp at Hotel Seri Malaysia, Malacca. Enjoy~

This is part of the COOL Youth worship team =) the most front girl is Melissa Pang whom left recently for her NS stint. We'll miss her very much... but God has His purpose in sending her there- to be the light and salt for Him!

That's our awesome speaker, Pastor Nicholas Choo praying for us...

One thing God has taught me in this camp was it is not God who has to move to suit himself to my plans and dreams; but rather it is I who has to move forward to align myself to God's plans and dreams or my life.

We did drawings on 2 boxes. One was a box of God's dreams for us.

This is how it looks like. :DD Well... mine was not too nice as I didn't really put in as much effort as some of my friends who made really nice ones. The top right is mine fyi.. haha =)

And one of the best part of the camp was obviously.... the GAMES!

Acting game, station games which comprises of walking in a team with arms locked, each one memorizing Ephesians 2:10, eating apples in pairs, paper stepping game... whatever you call it..., taking out balloons from flour using your mouth, scissors, paper, stone game in a different way.... Might have left out others.. Anyway, recalling all these from my memory through looking back at pictures. =)

Apple eating game :)

First pic: Blue team posing after the flour station games; Second pic: picture with youth friends! XD

More pics...

Btw, we learnt to make balloon sculpture too. How cool is that?!?! So uber cool!... Well, at least for me. Teehee. Have always wanted to learn that. :)

Balloon sculptures... fyi, Pastor Nicholas uses these balloon sculptures as an aid in preaching. Seriously, every time he does that, all eyes are on him. One interesting way in grabbing our attention. Oh.. he does magic tricks too. And he taught us a few~ Tell me again, how cool is that?! haha.. lol..

And of course, our hang out aka Maggi time... while watching a movie called Christine. On the last night, 16 youths slept in a room meant for 4 ppl. Awesome? lol..

Anyway, I'll end with...

We are Making A Difference for God because we are His masterpiece!

Ephesians 2:10 - For we are God's masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so that we can do the good things He planned for us long ago.

Pictures courtesy of Uncle Colin. Doubt he'll read this, but thanks a whole lot!

Ciaozz..

Sticking together

My wonderful team members! From left: Veronica, Mei Wei, Fee Vien, Melissa
Missing in action: Cammy and Syairah due to some unavoidable reasons

Breakfast before "working." lol.

I believe it wasn't by accident that we were in the same Management team for this assignment.

And I thank God very much for the each and every one of you. Indeed, each one of you is unique and special in your own ways. When one is weak, one is also strong. Somehow in a way, we complement each other. That's what a team is for. United we stand, divided we fall!

Let's bring the house down this coming Tuesday! ;)

Oh and btw,

Sunway Pyramid here we come!!! XD
